On a scale of 1-10, how effective are your call to actions [CTA]? Now, how confident are you that number would reflect your engagement numbers?
Call to actions [CTA] and the final piece of a good post. They are the final sentence that ties your whole point together. Think of it this way, what do you want people to do NOW? That is what your CTA should be telling them. ‘You have now read my whole spill, now take THIS ACTION’. If your CTA is strong, your readers will take the action. If the CTA is weak or unclear, the reader will move on. Let’s make sure your crowd stays on the ‘take action’ path!
How to Write A Good CTA
- Clear
- Make sure your CTA is clear. Don’t try to combine multiple steps as it can become confusing to someone who is new to your company or platform. Instead, ask them to do one thing. It should be one direction that is easy to follow.
- Simple
- Keep it simple! Don’t make this a laundry list of tasks or one task that takes a lot of time. Make sure the action you ask people to take is simple and fast. Great examples are ‘click here’, ‘sign up with your email’, or ‘follow me’. Think of actions that can be done within a minute!
- Make it desirable
- Last but certainly not least, make your pitch desirable! The build-up to your CTA should be making it clear they NEED your service, product, or knowledge. They should want to take the final step. So when they get to that CTA they are eager to follow your request.
